Senior QA Automation Engineer – Java, Selenium/Playwright & REST Assured

About the Role

Follex Technology Solutions is looking for an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer (Assistant Director – AD level) for an onsite contractual opportunity at a reputed banking and financial services client in Pune.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• Java: strong hands-on coding skills and automation framework development experience
• UI automation: Selenium WebDriver or Playwright
• Test frameworks: TestNG and/or JUnit
• API automation: REST Assured, including Spring Boot services and microservices testing
• Database testing: strong SQL skills for backend validation and data verification
• CI/CD: Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tools
• End-to-end testing: UI, API, backend, regression, and smoke testing
• QA fundamentals: SDLC, STLC, test strategy, defect management, debugging, and root-cause analysis

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, and backend testing
• Create reusable test scripts, framework components, test data, and execution reports
• Automate end-to-end Periodic KYC Review (PKR) workflows, including Kafka event flows and database validation
• Integrate regression and smoke test suites into CI/CD pipelines
• Investigate defects, troubleshoot failures, and perform root-cause analysis
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, Operations, and Engineering teams
• Ensure test coverage for application UI, APIs, backend services, and regulatory data outputs
• Support business enhancements, regulatory changes, and continuous quality improvement

Important Screening Criteria

• Minimum 8 years of relevant hands-on automation testing / SDET experience in banking or financial services
• Strong Java, Selenium or Playwright, REST Assured, SQL, and CI/CD experience is mandatory
• Prior KYC, AML, CLM, and Kafka experience will be an added advantage
